C3S User Learning Services offers high quality free eLearning resources supported by face-to-face training sessions on the use of climate data for climate adaptation challenges and on the use of the Climate Data Store (CDS) toolbox.
Within the CDS you can find quality assured, free of charge climate information. The CDS provides an extensive collection of climate datasets, easily searchable through a catalogue. In addition, an online toolbox allows users to build workflows and applications suited to their needs.
The blended training approach is based on individual and self-paced learning supported by online resources available on the Learning Experience Platform and the practical application of the acquired knowledge using a climate change adaptation case study.
The learning process is supported by two online webinars organised in October and November 2019, and a face-to-face event in Vilnius:
- First webinar: 17th of October, 15:00 – 163.15h (local time) - Introduction to the blended training approach
- Self-paced study and completion of assignments (10 hours)
- Full day face-to-face event: 12th of November, (Vilnius) – Flipped classroom, hands-on practical activities based on a climate change adaptation case study
- Self-paced study and further elaboration of the climate adaptation case study (8 hours)
- Final webinar: 28th of November, 15:00 – 16.30h (local time) - Presentation of case studies, discussion, and questions and answers session
C3S User Learning Services ambition is to provide high quality training to those who need to incorporate climate data to their business, research or projects, such as:
- Sectoral end users (priority: agriculture, energy, water and local planners) who will gain an understanding on the wealth of climate data available to them.
- Consultant & researchers: Identify opportunities offered by the CDS and main climate data sources and tools.
- MSc and PhD Students in hydrology, environmental sciences, physical geography or related fields who want to acquire additional skills.
