Climate change driven by increased anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions is known to have substantial impacts on the ocean and the marine ecosystem such as ocean warming and acidification, decrease of productivity and oxygen decline. These impacts are expected to have important consequences to a variety of ecosystem services from climate regulation, recreation and food provision.

In this webinar we will illustrate the consequences of climate change on the potential marine fisheries catch over the 21st century based on opposed climate scenarios of mitigated and unmitigated change and contrasting modelling approaches in order to estimate the likelihood of projected changes under the assumed future conditions.

Results show over-all a significant decrease in fisheries catch for both scenarios with considerable heterogeneity across different regions and generally increasing uncertainty towards higher latitudes reflecting the higher uncertainties in the oceanographic conditions.
